"I can eat it ALL BY MYSELF!"Independence is a wonderful thing!
I travelled a distance yesterday and felt some independence too! But, to be honest, any time away from my bub sets off the heart pangs!!
I spoke to a group of about 15 people, and shared some ideas on creative strategies for parenting and life. I spoke about rhythm, and routine, and tried to explain the differences between these two ideas. It is not always easy to explain in words. It is easier to demonstrate in action.
The best way I know how is to share this saying:
Rhythm is NOT mindless routine, but a MINDFUL awakening to the many blessings of the day. (source unknown)
Later, an idea came to me.
Perhaps, if one could imagine rhythm like a song.
Routine would be a series of notes, arranged in a predictable pattern, with a set starting and finishing time and four beats to a minute.
Rhythm would be a symphony; a melody that resonates with each listener. The interpretation of the song would be unique to each individual who hears it, but set within a boundary so that anyone with an ability to play music could bring it to life. With rhythm, each person would bring something of themselves to the music- their creativity, their drive, their human desires, and then inspire others through their connection to it.
Perhaps, this is too grand.
Perhaps, it needs something way more simple.
Have you any ideas??
