I have been practising different and new stitches for a new project."Little bees work very hard, making lots of honey
Sipping nectar from the flowers, when the days are sunny
I'm very, very busy said the bee,
I shant be home for dinner or tea
It makes me rather dizzy, and a little wuzzy wizzy
to be so very busy!, said the Honey bee."
(Bee and flower game, traditional)
I have heard it said that honey is a wonderful food for old age, that it is a helpful and nourishing thing for people at the autumn end of life. I think everyone, but especially older people, need simple sweetness to enjoy so I like this idea.
I also like that bees live harmoniously in community and work together for a united purpose. There is something sacred in their work that mirrors the building blocks of human life. I think we could learn a thing or two from bees.
This is the Moondew post box. Check out the fancy stitching on the post! I like postboxes. I especially like it when there is goodness in my postbox. I like sending goodness too.My friend Jen, sent a gift to my postbox recently. The new Felt magazine. Stop by for a visit!Thank YOU! Jen. While you are in visiting mode, why not visit Jen at Lavendilly House too? She does good work!

Your Moondew House is so cute! I love the detail and all the different stitches on it. Very exciting about your new playgroup. If I was not already in 2 playgroups already I would be coming to yours!
Aw shucks, thanks for th plug... and Yeah I wouldn't mind coming to Moondew too :)
we are in danger of becoming playgroup groupies
Love the house and the metaphor of the bees. Very sweet. Hee,hee. Gorgeous embroidery, too.
I'll post moondew playgroup info on my public blog, http://motherhoodjoiedevivre.blogspot.com/
in the 'mama groupies' category.
Thank you all! I love embroidery and have new energy to finally finish my green(e!) skirt too. Thanks for plugs.
Awesome, can't wait to see it. I haven't done much sewing lately. I had all my sewing stuff in our bedroom and it just wasn't working, so we've rearranged the office and somehow fitted my sewing table in there. But it's currently covered with the stuff I need to find new places for...
ps I wrote the wrong address for my public blog in my previous comment - the right address is:
http://motherjoiedevivre.blogspot.com/ - you feature on the front page at the moment!
Great. See you there!
