Sewing, and listening to Sarah Blasko

A moment in time opened up today, with playgroup off the agenda. Ned and I came home early, and after some quality time in the sun (looking for the 'moon' in the blue sky- Ned's fave pasttime at the moment) and opportunities to climb up and down and up the cubby stairs, it was sewing time.

This lovely stash of red and white fabric was just right for 18 little cushions. Moondew children will need a soft pillow to sit on at times. I was grateful for the extra day to be here. I love days and days of 'home'.

In America now, there is a new-ish phenomena where people are experiencing 'home.less-ness', as in 'never home'. Some children have never been at home for more than one day at a time- busy lives might mean a couple of days at childcare, a few at Nanna's house, days out shopping or doing errands, family and friend visits. I wonder how many Aussie kids might be in the same boat?

I wonder how anyone can create anything in a life without some good quality time at home. Perhaps, we can march for to right to stay home.

Sometimes, I put boundaries and limits around my trips out- just so I can stay home more!!

I see this life, of being a stay-at-home mum, as all too quickly slipping away and I want to cherish every moment of my time being home and with my baby boy.

It might be a while, perhaps retirement, to have these delightful home days again.

This is a cute book. It is called 'The Cute book'. Very apt!

Here is one of the cute things you can make! A squirrel. Now, that is cute!
