"There is nothing better than a good friend, except a good friend with chocolate!"
And, so began the Chocolate Chomp.
With friends, music, frivolous fun and of course, chocolate.
(and to all those who couldn't join us, it is now time to eat that special choc you saved!)
Jen, Dionne and Renee joined me in drinking our lovely glasses of fresh 'milk' wine.
And games. Merridee guessed the closest. 106 chocs in jar!
The ceremonial 'breaking of the chocolate' signalled the true beginning of the Chocolate Chomp.
A chocolate-infused candle was lit and a verse was shared.
Oh Chocolate, you lovely one
How sweet you are, under the sun
We've loved you forever
On occasions and in dairy bites
We've stood by you in dark and light
Oh, chocolate, you lovely friend
It is just so nice to see you again
We promise to stay near you once more
And eat you up with gusto, that is for sure!
That first bite in 7 years. A delight!
There were chocolate freddos, choc chip gluten free cookies, mint slice biscuits, a dark choc/white choc/nut choc/milk choc and strawberry platter, Lindt balls, chocolate mousse, Old Gold chocolate, a chocolate heart mud cake, chocolate spiders, chocolate marshallow bites, chocolate crunch bars, a Sara Lee chocolate cake and a chocolate fondue with fresh bananas and strawberries.
Sarah, Caprice, Holly and Dominika joined the celebrations.
Catherine and Merridee enjoyed a few cups of tea.
It was a true delight to have female folk over for an adult's only gathering! Mama Bears don't often get a chance to indulge in Mama time so a big thank you to all the Papa bears who cared for the little bears! And thank you to the Mama Friends who brought their fave choc things to add to the choc altar of goodness!!
Tomorrow, I've a few more pics to share of a special Chocolate Chomp dance!!
HAPPY INTERNATIONAL CHOCOLATE DAY!
Please indulge. You still have a few hours up your sleeve!
