One of my favourite places on the Gold Coast is the lovely Fingerprints Steiner Childcare Centre. My friends Bek and Adam (supported by their staff) have done a marvellous job in creating this centre. There really is nothing else like it in our local region.
Children, and families, are truly welcome here and the families know it!
I would love to share some pictures of what the inside space looks like, sans children. Time and time again, the parents comment "Oh, I wish I had been to a kindergarten like this". The best feedback for the staff who work here is the fact that the children, and families, never want to leave!!
These girls are my colleagues and friends- Bek (owner), Amanda (group leader), Tania (group leader) and Merridee (more-than-an-assistant!), and our old friend, Christine too! I love spending time with these girls who really value and love the journey of early childhood and who give their all to the children in their care.
They have not spared any expense, or labour, or love, in creating a space where children truly are at the centre of the equation. Not only in their setting up of the space, with quality timber furniture, handmade toys, style, gardening efforts and more, but also in the daily care of the children, their programming, their knowledge of the developmental stages of consciousness and their efforts to recognise the gifts of every individual who passes through the doors.
Oh, to be a child immersed in song, play, craft, art, story and more.....
It is really worth a visit!

Thanks Amber, I was only talking about fingerprints today and putting Grace's name down for pre-prep year. It looks beautiful - just what I want for Grace xxx
My children LOVE this place (and so do I of course!)! I have three children and only the middle one actually attends here, however, as Amber says... the hardest part of my day is leaving, for ALL of us. All three children are completely at home here (and receive all the love and care of home too... my 2yo was blessed with a love filled cuddle just this morning!). I could not possibly praise enough the love, enthusiasm and 'holistic' care that my family is blessed with by being part of the 'Fingerprints' family. A simple 'thank you' to all these gorgeous people would just never be enough - you have made (and will continue to make) a life-long contribution to our family and our lives. Love and light to you all. Dionne xx
We love Fingerprints too! The setting is just beautiful, and all the carers are so dedicated and loving towards the children and families.
My little girl loves it, as does my little boy who is going to start when he turns 3.
What a shame we live too far away to go to Fingerprints. It looks so wonderful. What a blessing for families in the area.
I tried to get into my local Steiner playgroup at Perth Steiner School in Bibra Lake but it's all booked up. There's a charge to be added to the waiting list and the cost is quite prohibitive too. I really wish I knew someone attending to ask if it's worth it.

HI Kym,
Do you get the school's newsletter? Can you attend one of their community events? That way, you can easily find someone to talk to about the playgroup and how people are finding it.
For most people, it is not only the playgroup but meeting other families with similar values, ideas, desires that is a real drawcard too.
Good luck!
And thank you to Donna, Dionne, and Kirsten- I will pass these wonderful messages to Bek!
Divine, divine , divine x
well done Amber, I get so inspired by these beautiful spaces x
I could not ask for any more than what Fingerprints give. It truly surpasses any expectations one may have of a place to hand your children over to. Here I know my daughter is loved, cared for and given an opportunity to experience the magic of real "Childhood". I will always love the Fingerprints family and am going to miss them so much when we move on to school next year. Catherine xx
Such a fun space to play in! Thanks for sharing!
I'm SOOOO jealous! I'd love this exact thing for my daughter, alas, none to be found within at least 2 hours of here :(
It looks beautiful
